Karl Fazio has over 30 years of professional experience in the legal and technology industries. Karl began their career in 1988 as a Research Assistant at the University of Arizona. In 1993, they became a Manufacturing Solutions Engineer for Digital Equipment Corporation (USA). In 1996, they were a Deputy County Attorney for Pima County, Arizona, where they drafted appellate briefs and argued before the Arizona Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. From 1999 to 2001, they were a Litigation Attorney for Sanders & Parks, PC. Karl then became a Litigation Partner at Bowman and Brooke from 2001 to 2007. From 2007 to 2015, they were Associate General Counsel, Intellectual Property and Subsidiary General Counsel for GoDaddy, where they managed a team of 12 lawyers and legal professionals responsible for the company's global intellectual property matters. From 2015 to 2022, they were Vice President and Division General Counsel for Pearson, where they served as Pearson's chief patent counsel and supported technology-centric M&A activity. In 2022, they began their current role as General Counsel and Privacy Officer for RunBuggy.
Karl Fazio has completed a Lead to Succeed Executive Development Program from Hult Ashridge, a JD from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona. Karl is also a Licensed Attorney from the State Bar of Arizona, a Registered Patent Attorney from the USPTO, and a Certified Information Privacy Professional from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
