Earlier positions include Secretary of Corrections for New Mexico, where oversight encompassed a $300 million budget and 2,500 employees, and Deputy Director of the New Mexico Department of Public Safety. Educational qualifications include an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, an LLM from Emory University, a JD from Whittier Law School, and a BA from The University of New Mexico.
