J. Ellen Blades is an experienced professional currently serving as the Assistant Director and Manager of the Department of Community Services for the City of Summit since January 2009. Previous roles include Consultant at Translational Medicine Alliance and various positions at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), where responsibilities ranged from Manager to Coordinator in Business Development. Prior experience also includes serving as a Legal Assistant in International Trade at Kaye Scholer LLP and internships at The Brookings Institution and the American Bankers Association. J. Ellen Blades holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Law, Economics, and Government from American University, completed the Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program at Harvard Kennedy School, and is pursuing a Mini-MPA with a focus on Public Administration and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Rutgers University. Additionally, J. Ellen Blades has participated in AU’s World Capitals Program at the University of London.
