Becky Schwartz is an accomplished professional in urban forestry with extensive experience in managing tree equity initiatives across the United States. Currently serving as the Director of Urban Forestry Innovation at American Forests since January 2022, Becky leads various projects focused on climate-smart nurseries, urban tree maintenance, and wood reuse while overseeing a budget for localized tree management and workforce development. Previous roles include Senior Manager of Urban Forestry at American Forests, where Becky collaborated with over 30 cities to implement a nationwide tree planting program, and Urban Forester with the District Department of Transportation in Washington, DC, managing a substantial tree inventory and community outreach efforts. Becky has also held positions with organizations such as Casey Trees and the City of Philadelphia, and has a strong educational background in natural resources and sustainability from the University of Michigan and Arizona State University.
