Marisa Redd

Senior Director Of Organizational Effectiveness And Development, IT at Greater Austin YMCA

Marisa Redd's work experience begins in 2005 as an AmeriCorps VISTA Youth Literacy Program Specialist at College Mentors for Kids, Inc. Here, they wrote curriculum for at-risk 1st-4th graders and implemented a literacy component in their programming.

From 2007 to 2010, Marisa worked at Girl Scouts San Diego, where they designed and directed county-wide summer camp programs and coordinated training events for teens. Marisa also facilitated a teen peer education program focused on women's health and education.

Next, Marisa worked at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County from 2010 to 2013. As a Program Director and Clubhouse Director, they oversaw programs and activities at two locations, planning and implementing community special events, sports leagues, and summer camp programs.

In 2013, Marisa held a contract position at the Petaluma Small Craft Center as a Program Director, where they directed and managed day-to-day operations for a youth summer camp and participated in strategic planning meetings.

During the same year, they also worked as the Office Manager & Registrar at Marin Ballet, coordinating volunteer recruitment and management for performances and special events.

In 2017, Marisa joined the Young Women's Alliance as a Volunteer Events Chair, Membership Ambassador Chair, and later as the Donor Chair for Strategic Partnerships.

Marisa's most recent employment was at the Greater Austin YMCA, where they held several roles. Marisa started as an Account Director in 2017 and later became the Business Director for the Program Services YMCA and the newly merged Extend-A-Care YMCA branch. Marisa then served as the Human Capital Business Manager, responsible for recruiting, staff operations, training, and development. As the Director of Organizational Effectiveness and Development, they facilitated workshops and led digital transformation efforts.

Marisa Redd obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from San Diego State University between 2007 and 2010. In 2016 and 2017, they pursued a Certificate in Nonprofit Management at the University of Illinois Chicago, focusing on Development, Program Design and Evaluation, Strategic Planning, and Social Media in Non-Profit Organizations. Marisa also attended Butler University from 2004 to 2006, where they studied Public Relations and International Studies. Currently, they are planning to pursue a Certificate in Executive Education in Organizational Leadership at Kellogg Executive Education in 2023 and 2024.
