Rachel Sarah is RMI’s media relations lead. On a daily basis she responds to press inquiries, nurtures relationships with journalists, and proactively spots emerging news trends to pitch stories that highlight the institute’s mission, thought leadership, research and successes.

Most recently, Rachel worked as an independent climate journalist, which included writing books on contract about the climate crisis for Chicago Review Press.

Girl Warriors: How 25 Young Activists Are Saving the Earth came out in 2021 to starred reviews (“Engaging, brilliant, and intersectional: a must for shelves everywhere.” – Kirkus Reviews)

Her forthcoming book, Climate Champions: 15 Women Fighting for Your Future, is due out in March 2023.

This year, Rachel was also the keynote speaker at Broward County, Florida’s Climate Summit, where she spoke to 7,000 students about climate justice. She’s also a 2023 Planet Steward at NOAA.
