Emilia Mickevicius currently serves as the Norton Family Assistant Curator of Photography at both the Phoenix Art Museum and the Center for Creative Photography, a position held since June 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Curatorial Associate and Curatorial Assistant in Photography at SFMOMA from September 2019 to May 2023. Emilia's academic background features a PhD in History of Art and Architecture from Brown University, complemented by an A.B. in Art History with a Minor in Visual Arts from the University of Chicago. Previous positions also include Graduate Teaching Assistant at Brown University, Graduate Curatorial Proctor at the RISD Museum, and various roles at the University of Chicago and The Art Institute of Chicago, contributing significantly to the field of photography and art curation.
