Philip Pan is the Associate Managing Editor, Masthead at The New York Times. Philip was previously a staff writer at The Washington Post from June 1995 to November 2010. Philip is also the author of the award-winning book, Out of Mao's Shadow: The Struggle for the Soul of a New China.

Philip Pan graduated from Harvard University with a BA in Government.
