James Daley is the founder and managing director of Fairer Finance, a consumer group and consultancy aimed at improving the financial services market for consumers. Since February 2014, Daley has led efforts to publish ratings and consult on consumer issues. Current positions include member of the Consumer Advisory Board at UK Finance, columnist for The i Paper and the Telegraph Media Group, and independent consumer representative on the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Professional Standards Committee. As a dedicated public servant, Daley served as a Labour councillor in Wandsworth until 2022, held roles such as Chief Whip and Opposition Speaker on Pensions, and is an honorary alderman. Additionally, Daley chairs the governors at Smallwood Primary School, demonstrating a commitment to community engagement and education. Daley holds a BA in Politics and Economics from Durham University and a PG Dip in Newspaper Journalism from City, University of London.
