Matthew Ethier

Matthew Ethier has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Matthew started their career in 2005 as a Server/Expo at Boston Pizza, Waterloo, where they provided excellent customer service and coordinated orders. In 2010, they worked as a Producer at GoLo Motorsports, organizing and editing clips for promotional videos. Matthew then joined Conestoga College - Student Life as a Production Coordinator, creating orientation videos and contributing to equipment purchasing decisions.

In 2011, Matthew worked for Bellator Fighting Championships and Speed as a TVA. Matthew also had a brief role as a Mobile Technician at CBC Television. From 2010 to 2013, they worked at Rogers TV as a Director and Technical Director, responsible for switcher elements, camera checks, and audio.

In 2013, Matthew joined Grand River Raceway as a Technical Operator, and in the same year, they started their journey at CTV News. Matthew began as a Technical Operator, involved in directing live television news broadcasts and editing news stories. Later, they became a Multimedia Journalist, reporting on community stories and conducting interviews. In 2020, they became a Crew Chief at CTV News, overseeing technical staff, monitoring content quality, and driving innovation.

Matthew also had a short tenure as a Television Director (Casual) at CTV National News in 2023. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated their skills in technical operations, directing, producing, and multimedia journalism.

Matthew Ethier has a diploma in Radio, Television, and Digital Communication from Conestoga College, which they obtained between the years 2009 and 2011. Prior to that, between 2007 and 2008, they studied Film/Cinema/Video Studies at both York University and Calumet Council.
