Reetta Kivelä has had a long and varied career in the food industry. Reetta began their work experience in 2004 as a Project Manager and Project Technologist at Atria Plc. In 2007, they became a Researcher at the University of Helsinki, where their thesis about beta-glucan degradation was acknowledged. In 2011, they moved to Fazer as a Senior Manager of Research. From 2015 to 2021, they held various roles at Gold&Green Foods Ltd, Nordic Breakfast Ltd, Mö Foods, Nordic Umami Company, and Vilvest Oy, including Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer, Board Member, and Co-Owner. In 2020, they took on the role of Researcher at e2 Tutkimus and, in 2021, they became a Professor of Practice (Food Innovations) at the University of Helsinki.
Reetta Kivelä received their Doctor of Science in Food Technology from the University of Helsinki in 2011, after having obtained their MSc in Food Chemistry from the same university in 2003.
