Charles Whitehead is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental geochemistry and mining-related issues. Currently serving as the Water Lab Manager at Newmont Corporation since November 2021, Charles previously held notable positions such as Senior Geochemist at Geomega from 2011 to 2021, where responsibilities included providing permitting and litigation support for environmental challenges. Earlier roles included Manager of Special Projects at Molycorp Minerals, working on funding and technical communication for rare earth product development, as well as Technology Supervisor at the same company, where leadership of a research team focused on creating applications for rare earth elements. Additional experience includes a Visiting Scientist role at DuPont Crop Protection and a Research Assistant position at Johns Hopkins University, where research emphasized environmental interactions of chemical agents. Charles holds a PhD in Geography and Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Environmental Science and Chemistry from the University of Delaware.
