Austin Powell is a highly experienced mining engineering professional with over a decade of expertise at Newmont Corporation, currently serving as Principal Underground Mine Design and Planning Engineer. Since January 2011, Austin has contributed to significant projects, including the Cripple Creek & Victor underground exploration project, where responsibilities encompass mine engineering support, design creation, and cost estimation. Previous roles include Senior Underground Mine Engineer and Senior Mine Projects Engineer, focusing on long-term waste storage planning and developing life of mine designs. Prior to Newmont, Austin gained valuable experience as a Student Foreman at CSM Edgar Experimental Mine and completed internships with Cliffs Natural Resources and Kiewit. Austin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
