James Rawlins has over 16 years of work experience in the field of software development. James is currently working as a Staff Software Engineer at JumpCloud since October 2021.

Prior to this, James worked at SpotX (now part of Magnite) for 3 years as a Platform Architect from May 2021 to October 2021, and as a Senior Software Development Engineer from July 2018 to May 2021. In these roles, they focused on enabling engineers, implementing features, upgrading software project infrastructure, and improving software development processes. James also mentored under the Director of Engineering and played a significant role in enhancing user-facing applications and making a legacy application cloud-native.

Before joining SpotX, James worked at LGS Innovations as a Software Developer from January 2016 to July 2018. At Lockheed Martin, they served as a Sr Software Engineer for 8 years from March 2008 to January 2016. In this role, they designed and implemented software solutions in various languages, maintained code, and advocated for the effective use of Wiki software.

James had earlier internships at Colorado Spacegrant Consortium as a Software Intern from June 2006 to November 2007, and at Motorola Solutions as a System Test Intern in June 2005.

James Rawlins obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder. James studied at the university from 2002 to 2007.
