Shirlyn Baskette has a diverse range of work experience in the field of fundraising and philanthropy. Shirlyn most recently served as the Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement at JFS Vancouver. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Development Officer at the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of British Columbia, where they led the creation and execution of integrated fundraising campaigns. Shirlyn also audited the CRM system and ensured CRA compliance.

Before their role at ANHBC, Shirlyn was the President of the Board of Directors at the Richmond Ravens Female Hockey Association, where they provided leadership in various areas such as budget development, player recruitment, volunteer management, and fundraising.

Shirlyn'sprevious experience includes roles at the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, where they served as the Associate Vice President, Philanthropic Programs & Donor Engagement, leading strategic planning and overseeing annual programs and donor relations. Shirlyn was also the Director of Annual Programs at the foundation.

Shirlyn's other work experience includes positions at the Canadian Cancer Society, BC Cancer Foundation, Eastside Domestic Violence Program, Planned Parenthood of the Inland Northwest, and Eastern Washington University. These roles involved responsibilities such as managing comprehensive annual giving programs, fundraising campaigns, and coordinating events.

Shirlyn Baskette earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English, Communications, and History from Eastern Washington University, from 1990 to 1995.
