Nannette Berensen serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Intermountain Health, where she oversees the continual improvement of clinical care in all Intermountain facilities and all health system operations. In this role, all efforts aim to support the organizationās vision of creating a model health system and provide health services at the lowest appropriate cost to the communities we serve.
Nannette returned to Intermountain in 2006 as the director of pharmacy services for Intermountain Medical Center and has held many leadership roles since, including her most recent position as vice president and chief operating officer of Clinical Shared Services. In this role, she developed and implemented the Clinical Shared Services model across 13 enterprise clinical service lines. Nannette also led the modernization of the Biorepository, one of the largest biobanks in existence. She also supported the launch of Tellica Imaging and served as the interim CEO and board chair for Tellica Imaging.
Before returning to Intermountain, Nannette was an associate professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) College of Pharmacy and director of the MUSC Drug Information Center.
Nannette earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications, a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Utah, and a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from University of Providence. She completed a specialized residency in drug information practice and pharmacotherapy at the National Institutes of Health.
Nannette grew up in Price, Utah and started her healthcare career as a phlebotomist at Castleview Hospital and at Primary Childrenās Hospital while she was completing her undergraduate degree. She and her husband, Michael, live in North Salt Lake and have two daughters.
