Radha Chitta has a diverse work experience in research and development roles. Radha currently works as a Senior Research Scientist at Zuva, a spin-out from Kira Systems. Their role involves advancing machine learning for business documents and helping businesses understand their contracts. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Kira Systems from 2017 to 2021, where they developed machine learning and natural language processing tools to enhance the capabilities of the company.
Before joining Kira Systems, Radha worked at Conduent in 2017 as a Research Scientist, focusing on understanding chronic disease progression and predicting the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of interventions using microsimulation-based methods and deep learning techniques.
From 2016 to 2016, they worked as a Research Scientist at Xerox Business Services. Their projects involved using recurrent neural networks for predicting complications and comorbidities in patients with chronic diseases based on healthcare claims. Radha also worked on distributed representation learning for medical codes.
Prior to that, Radha worked as a Research Assistant at Michigan State University from 2010 to 2015, where they developed novel large-scale kernel-based clustering algorithms for big data. Radha also served as a Teaching Assistant for the course "Media Processing and Multimedia." Radha was highly appreciated by both instructors and students for their assistance.
During their career, Radha had internships at Edmodo, where they developed incremental topic-modeling techniques for user profiling and resource recommendation, and at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems.
Radha began their career as a Systems Engineer at Yahoo! in 2008, where they monitored and ensured the availability of Yahoo! Websites and developed automated tools for performance reporting. Radha also had internships at Ampelion Networks and Sun Microsystems, where they worked on web projects and internationalized user interfaces.
Radha Chitta began their education at Christ College from 2000 to 2002. During this time, they did not earn a specific degree and their field of study is unknown. From 2002 to 2006, Radha attended Visvesvaraya Technological University, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Science. Following that, they pursued a Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree in System Science and Automation at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) from 2006 to 2008. Finally, Radha completed their education by obtaining a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Michigan State University from 2010 to 2015.
