Annabel Meleán has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. In 2016, they worked as a Professional Development intern at the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute. From 2015 to 2019, they were actively involved in the Latinx en Acción (LEA) Student Organization at the University of Cincinnati, serving as a student organization coordinator and later as a receptionist. In 2019, they coordinated and led LEA in fundraising for a service initiative in collaboration with NECHAMA - Jewish Response to Disaster organization.
From 2013 to 2019, Meleán worked at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in various positions, including Team Lead, Guest Relations, and Guest Engagement. In 2020, they interned at the Murray and Agnes Seasongood Good Government Foundation, where they conducted research on civil service guidelines and provided recommendations for improving community relations within the Cincinnati Police Department.
In the same year, they also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Cincinnati College of Arts and Sciences and participated in The Cincinnati Project Symposium organized by the TAFT Research Center. Annabel served as a Senior Legislative Aide at the Ohio Senate from January to September 2022.
Currently, they hold the role of Public Policy Officer at the Ohio Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs, starting in September 2022. Additionally, they are scheduled to join YWCA Columbus in February 2023 for a Leadership Program role.
Annabel Meleán completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of Cincinnati from 2015 to 2019. Following this, they pursued further education and acquired a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Social Justice at the same institution from 2019 to 2021.
