Sara Abasi has had a varied career in the biomedical field. In 2011, they were a Technical Supervisor at ARAS Medical, where they assisted with regulatory procedures such as FDA, CE, and ISO 13485 compliance. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Commercial and R&D Assistant at RRS Ltd. (Kardan Behbood), where they researched biomedical devices and managed the initial phase of building a Class 1000 clean room facility. In 2015, they were a Lecturer at Islamic Azad University. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Texas A&M University, where they led multiple lines of research and developed and implemented laboratory protocols. In 2020, they became a Lead Scientist and Scientist at Cytiva, where they optimized cell culture media and process and conducted scale-down experiments. Sara is currently a Senior Scientist at Wildtype.
Sara Abasi's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of Isfahan (2004-2008), followed by a period of study at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (2009-2012). In 2016, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Florida International University. Later that same year, they began a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Texas A&M University, which they completed in 2020. In 2011, they obtained a Technical Supervisor of Medical Devices certification from the National Medical Device Directorate, Iran Ministry of Health.
