Alethea Cope (PhD) is an accomplished professional in the field of translational science and immunology, currently serving as Head of Translation at the Wellcome Trust since August 2022. Previously, Alethea held the position of Director of Translational Science at Achilles Therapeutics plc and Senior Director of Human Immunology at the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), where responsibilities included strategic leadership and management of translational research projects. Alethea also served as Translational Research Manager at UCL and held senior research fellow positions at Imperial College London, the University of London (SGUL site), and the Jenner Institute for Vaccine Research, focusing on vaccine development and immunogenicity studies. Alethea holds a PhD in Virology from the University of London, a Master's in Clinical Trials from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Microbial Technology from the University of Warwick.
