Lelia Williams is a dedicated student at the University of Virginia pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Global Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Leadership, with a minor in Architectural History. Currently serving as a Student Research Assistant for the RAFT Project at the Institute for Engagement & Negotiation and a Research Assistant at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, Lelia is actively involved in researching solar farm permitting in Virginia. Lelia has experience in the nonprofit sector as a Philanthropy Intern with Emerson Collective focused on environmental justice and as an Ignite Fellow with Teach For America, supporting students in Washington, D.C. Additional roles include working as a waitress at The Local, serving as a Class Checker for UVA Student-Athlete Development, and participating as a Student Speaker for College Promise. Previous internship experience includes working with Lynchburg Beacon of Hope to promote equitable access to education and lifeguarding at Peakland Pool & Tennis Club. Lelia also broadened academic horizons through a program in Valencia, Spain, focusing on Global Health.
