Charlie Henry serves as the Head of Data Science for the Transportation and Public Works Department at the City of Austin since November 2021, leading a team focused on unlocking data for analysis and visualization, and developing products that monitor significant financial metrics. Previous experience includes roles as a Data Scientist within the same department, where Charlie published extensive daily data records and designed dynamic dashboards. Prior to this, Charlie worked as a Transportation Engineering Data Analyst at DKS Associates, specializing in safety analysis and traffic simulations, as well as an intern at Fehr & Peers, producing traffic impact analyses and technical reports. An earlier position as a Co-op Engineer in the City of Austin involved developing a database system for asset tracking and delivering traffic pattern reports. Charlie holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and is pursuing a Master of Science in Data Science at The University of Texas at Austin.
