Christina Pope has a diverse work experience that spans over several organizations and roles. Christina began their career in 2008 as a Governor's Summer Intern at the Maryland Department of Human Resources, Office for Refugees and Asylees. In 2010, they worked as an Americorps Bilingual Citizenship Coordinator at CASA de Maryland. The following year, they served as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Brazil under the U.S. Department of State.
In 2012, Christina joined Policy and Program Design as a Consultant, where they worked on various projects related to policy and program research, design, writing, and editing for organizations such as the Maryland State Department of Education, FIRN (a nonprofit immigration services and referral agency), and ImmigrationWorks USA (a nonprofit advocating for immigration reform).
Simultaneously, they also held the position of National Immigrant Integration Conference Coordinator at CASA de Maryland from May 2012 to October 2012. Later that year, in December 2012, they transitioned to the University of Missouri - St. Louis as an International Student Advisor, serving until August 2015.
After their role as an International Student Advisor, Christina joined Welcoming America in August 2015 as a Regional Manager for the Rust Belt region. Christina later became a Senior Regional Manager, before being appointed as the Network Director in January 2018. Christina'smost recent role at Welcoming America has been as the Senior Director of Welcoming International, starting in August 2021 and continuing to the present.
Christina Pope received their Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College in 2010. During their time there, they pursued a double major in Comparative Literature and Comparative American Studies.
