Ashraf S. has over 15 years of experience in the technology industry. Ashraf began their career in 2005 as a Senior Development Engineer at Cisco Systems, where they developed the OS layer and out of band communication protocol between streaming devices and hosts. In 2006, they joined Analytics Solutions as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed business intelligence and actionable analytics for retail and solar providers. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at Deem, Inc. as a Principal Software Engineer and Engineering Manager, where they championed data democratization and transitioned the company from manual reporting to a self-service data consumption system. Ashraf then joined Castlight Health in 2014 as a Tech Lead, Senior Software Engineer and Personalization Lead, where they co-founded core personalization products. In 2020, they joined Pulse42.io as a Software Engineering and Applied AI & Data Products, where they distill unknowns into clear actionable road maps and long-term vision. Currently, they are working at Weights & Biases as an ML/Data Engineer, enabling challenging Data and ML products that unlock insights.
Ashraf S. has an extensive educational background. Ashraf obtained a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Madras in 2008. Ashraf then went on to pursue a Professional Development degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Applied Mathematics (Statistical Analysis) and Enterprise Java Architecture. In 2017, they obtained a Certificate in Machine Learning from the University of Washington College of Engineering, specializing in Advanced Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Currently, Ashraf S. is pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition to these degrees, Ashraf S. has obtained several certifications, including Building Resilient Streaming Analytics Systems on GCP from Coursera in 2021, Text Retrieval and Search Engines from Coursera Verified Certificates in 2015, Pattern Discovery in Data Mining from Coursera Verified Certificates in 2015, and Machine Learning from Coursera in 2013.
