Julia Balog is a seasoned researcher in mass spectrometry and molecular biology, currently serving as Research Director and Group Lead at Waters Corporation since July 2014, where responsibilities include overseeing consultant research scientists and managing projects in ambient ionization and high throughput direct mass spectrometry. Additionally, Julia holds a position as a Research Associate in Surgical Metabonomics at Imperial College London, where coordination of iKnife applications focuses on real-time tissue identification during surgeries. Prior experience includes serving as Principal Consultant Research Scientist at MediMass, developing algorithms for the iKnife surgical instrument. Julia Balog earned a PhD in Molecular and Neurobiology, alongside Master’s degrees in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Biology from Eötvös Loránd University.
