Cesar Munoz-Fontela has a diverse work experience in the field of virology and tropical medicine. Cesar started their career as a graduate student at CIB-CSIC in 2001 and later continued their studies at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. In 2004, they worked as a research scholar at Imperial College London. Munoz-Fontela then joined Mount Sinai Medical Center, serving as a postdoctoral fellow from 2006 to 2009 and later as an instructor from 2009 to 2011. Cesar then moved to Heinrich-Pette-Institute, where they worked as a junior group leader for six years. Currently, Munoz-Fontela is the head of a research group at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine, starting from January 2018.
Cesar Munoz-Fontela pursued their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Microbiology and Immunology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, attending from 1994 to 2000.
