Carl Schubert is an experienced engineering and software development professional with a strong background in both technical leadership and hands-on programming. Currently serving as Engineering Manager and Technical Lead at VTS since February 2019, Carl has been instrumental in defining the architecture and roadmap for a new microservice-based Marketplace product. Prior experience includes roles as a Software Developer at GreenBlender, where Carl modernized a legacy application utilizing React and Redux, and as a Software Developer at Grist Labs, focusing on front-end development for a structured data application. Earlier positions include a Research Fellow at Wills Eye Hospital, where Carl contributed to projects on inherited retinal dystrophies, and a Lab Technician at Columbia University, engaged in genetic research. Carl holds a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies from Oberlin College and completed a Post-bac Premedical Program at Columbia University.
