Ward van der Tempel has significant experience in the technology industry. Ward is currently the Chief Technology Officer at VoxelSensors since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Product Director at Spectricity from January 2019 to October 2021. Ward also served as the Head of Technology at Sony Depthsensing Solutions from October 2017 to December 2018. Before that, Ward was the Sensor Team Leader at Softkinetic from June 2011 to September 2017. Ward started their career as a Sr Engineer - Sensors team leader at Optrima from April 2009 to November 2011. Ward also worked as a PhD Research Assistant at Vrije Universiteit Brussel from September 2004 to November 2010.

Ward van der Tempel started their education at KA Ninove, where they studied from 1992 to 1999. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 1999 and studied there until 2004. During this time, they did not specify a degree or field of study. However, they continued their education at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and obtained a Doctor degree in Engineering, which they pursued from 2004 until 2011.
