Tamal Sarkar has a strong background in electrical engineering and research. Tamal started their career as a Lecturer at Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT) in 2014 and worked there until 2015. Tamal then moved on to Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd. (DPDC) where they served as an Assistant Engineer from 2015 to 2017. Following that, they joined Arkansas State University as a Graduate Research Assistant in 2017 and worked there until 2019. Tamal then became a Postgraduate Researcher at Arkansas State University from 2019 to 2020. Currently, they are employed as an Electrical Engineer (Research) at VoltServer Inc. since 2020.

Tamal Sarkar completed a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology from 2009 to 2013. Tamal then pursued a Master of Science - MS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Arkansas State University from 2017 to 2019.
