Greg Bauer (MS, PharmD, DPLA, ACE) works with Visante clients to elevate operations, patient care and financial metrics while achieving high-performance pharmacy for the organization. His innovative approach to workflows and recent 340B certification are valuable assets for clients looking to optimize their operations, compliance and financial results. He also brings experience in ambulatory infusion centers to help clients deliver exceptional care to patients.
Before joining Visante, Greg was the Associate Vice President of Health System Pharmacy Operations at Temple University Health System (TUHS). He was also an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Temple University College of Pharmacy. At TUHS, Greg was responsible for standardizing operations across five hospital campuses and several TUHS ambulatory infusion centers. Under his team’s leadership, Temple University Health System Pharmacy experienced significant growth, expanded pharmacy services in both inpatient and ambulatory clinics, initiated new pharmacy services and improved health system operating margins through formulary management, pharmacy clinical interventions and optimization of the 340B program.
Greg has experience with a vast array of pharmacy technology solutions and workflow systems and has been directly responsible for USP 797/800 facility planning and pharmacy architectural design. He has installed and optimized robotic sterile product automation in cleanrooms in both adult and pediatric medical centers and is a subject matter expert in the use of automation to safely deliver medications to patients.
Greg was previously the Director of Pharmacy Services at Virtua Vorhees Hospital and an Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisor at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
An experienced educator, Greg is highly involved in industry organizations and efforts to advance the profession of pharmacy and healthcare. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and an MS in Health Systems Pharmacy Administration from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Greg completed two years of post-graduate training in health-system pharmacy administration at The Ohio State Medical Center. He also holds a Fellowship in Clinical Toxicology, is a Diplomat of the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Academy and recently completed his Apexus 340B certification.
