Roopam Sood-Khandpur, M.D., is a psychiatrist with extensive experience in addiction psychiatry, currently serving as a psychiatrist at Hampton VA Medical Center and Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center since May 2008. Previous roles include medical director for adolescent addictions at The Barry Robinson Center from 2008 to 2013, and medical director of addiction at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board from 2005 to 2008. Earlier experience includes providing psychiatric care for adults and adolescents at Pathways Center from 2002 to 2005. Roopam Sood-Khandpur completed an Addiction Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Maryland Baltimore (2001-2002) and a Psychiatry Residency Program at Stony Brook University (1998-2001), following the completion of a Doctor of Medicine degree in Medicine from The City University of New York (1994-1997).
