Kars de Graaf is an accomplished academic and legal professional with extensive experience in public law and sustainability. Currently serving as Regeringscommissaris Omgevingswet at the Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties since January 2024, Kars de Graaf has been a Professor at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Law since November 1999, alongside various other academic positions. Kars de Graaf actively contributes to environmental law as Chair of the Dutch Association of Environmental Law and as an Honorary Judge at the Court of Noord-Nederland. Additionally, Kars de Graaf holds editorial roles in significant legal publications and has served on multiple boards related to administrative law and local governance.
