Roeland Rombaut has extensive work experience in the food industry, with a focus on plant-based foods, margarines, culinary oils, and fats. Roeland most recently served as the Operations & SC Director for Plant Based Food Solutions at Vandemoortele. Prior to that, they held roles as a Site Manager and R&D Manager for Margarines, Culinary Oils & Fats at the same company. Before joining Vandemoortele, they worked as the Head of Customer Innovation Bakery Europe at AarhusKarlshamn. Rombaut also has experience at CSM Bakery Supplies Europe Division as a Senior R&D Manager and R&D Manager for Fats and Oils. Roeland began their career as a Product Developer at Alpro and later worked in Research & Engineering at DNMD / Büllinger Butterei. Rombaut holds a PhD in Applied Biological Sciences and has lectured at various universities.
Roeland Rombaut obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Engineering Chemistry from Ghent University in 2000. Roeland then pursued their PhD in Dairy Science & Technology at Ghent University from 2000 to 2006.
