Susan Tierney has extensive experience in communications and public relations, currently serving as the Communications Manager at Valley Metro RPTA since October 1996. In this role, Susan manages the agency's communications department, developing messaging and strategies for both internal and external audiences, responding to media inquiries, and acting as the agency spokesperson. Previous positions include Public Information Officer, where Susan handled media relations and crisis communications, and Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator, focusing on promoting alternatives to single-occupant vehicle usage to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. Earlier in Susan's career, a role as Senior Project Manager at the Orange County Transportation Authority involved developing traffic mitigation campaigns. Susan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Communication and Media Studies from Kansas State University.
