Koen De Winne is a Clinical Scientist at UZA since February 2016, specializing in pathological anatomy and molecular pathology. Prior to this role, Koen served as a Research Scientist and Project Coordinator at KU Leuven, managing a research project on the epigenetic legacy of paternal obesity from February 2015 to January 2016. This project examined the effects of paternal obesity on various biological outcomes. Koen's experience also includes an internship as a Clinical Embryologist at UZ Leuven and research positions at the Institute of Tropical Medicine and the University of Antwerp, focusing on antigen detection and developmental instability in zebrafish, respectively. Koen holds a Master of Science in Aquaculture from Ghent University and a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Antwerp.
