Franco van den Berg is a professional rugby player with experience at both national and club levels. Currently, van den Berg plays for the Utah Warriors Rugby team since December 2018. Prior to this, van den Berg was a rugby player for the Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd from January 2015 to April 2018 and briefly represented the Junior Springboks in 2016. Van den Berg's educational background includes a degree from the University of Pretoria, completed from 2015 to 2020, and secondary education at Hoërskool Randburg, attended from 2010 to 2014.
