Leif Harfst is an accomplished Controls Engineer at USNR since June 2021, with prior experience as a researcher at WSU HYPER Lab, where work focused on the design of controls and electrical systems for advanced hydrogen generation units. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Washington State University, Leif also contributed to the development of the first-generation Mobile Hydrogen Generation Unit while at WSU's HYPER Lab. Earlier experience includes an industrial electrical apprenticeship at All-Phase Electric, where hands-on involvement in building industrial machines and maintaining electrical systems took place, along with a mechanical engineering internship at Cub Crafters, Inc. Leif began the academic journey in mechanical engineering at Yakima Valley College and has a foundational education from Yakima Valley Community College.
