Myrna Lopez has over 20 years of experience in human resources. Myrna started their career as a Human Resources Manager at North Jersey Media Group, where they focused on employee relations, recruiting, training, and performance management. Myrna then worked at Metropolitan Jewish Health System as an Assistant Director of Human Resources, overseeing the HR function for a large healthcare facility. During their time there, they handled employee and labor relations, recruitment, training, and regulatory compliance. Myrna then moved on to become the Director of Human Resources at the Center for Urban Community Services, where they directed the HR function for a multi-location nonprofit social service agency. Myrna developed a new employee onboarding program and provided coaching to management staff. Myrna later joined Bronx House as the Fitness Director, responsible for managing the fitness department and handling employee relations, training, and performance management. Myrna then transitioned to the YMCA of Greater New York as the Director of Membership & Programs, overseeing membership, healthy lifestyle, and youth programs. Myrna partnered with the Corporate HR department on employee relations and managed recruitment, training, and development. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director, People and Culture at Urban Resource Institute, where they collaborate with the executive and leadership teams to align the people strategy with business goals. Myrna provides guidance on performance management, employee relations, and conducts objective investigations when needed.
Myrna Lopez earned a Master's degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Baruch College from 2004 to 2006. Myrna also holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from William Paterson University of New Jersey. In addition, they have certifications in AFAA from ACE and CPR/AED.
