Ethan Birney is an Assistant Professor of History at The University of West Alabama, where responsibilities include teaching courses in Western Civilization, Modern Africa, and the History of England, as well as supervising student teachers. Prior to this role, Birney served as a Professor of History at Spartanburg Methodist College, instructing courses in Freshman Year Experience, Western Civilization, and Modern World History. Additionally, Birney has experience as a Summer Programme Lecturer at the University of St Andrews, delivering lectures on Scottish history, and participated in a rare books cataloging project. Birney holds a PhD in Mediaeval History from the University of St Andrews, along with an MA and BA in History from Bob Jones University.
