Santosh Kiran B. has a diverse work experience spanning across various research and academic roles. Starting from 2009, they worked as a Materials Engineer at Fraunhofer IZFP, where their responsibilities included managing projects, preparing reports, and conducting evaluations on residual stress in metals using ultrasonic testing methods. From 2011 to 2015, Santosh worked as a Research Fellow/PhD Scholar at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, gaining significant research experience. Santosh Kiran then joined Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2015. In 2016, they transitioned to Brigham Young University as a Research Faculty member. Santosh's teaching career began in 2018 at Salt Lake Community College, where they served as an Adjunct Faculty and later took on roles such as STEM Projects Manager and STEM Coordinator. In August 2023, Santosh will assume the role of Director of XPS Facility at the University of South Carolina.
Santosh Kiran B. received a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2006. Prior to that, they completed their Intermediate Education (11th & 12th Grade) at Vignan University from 2000 to 2002. Santosh Kiran then pursued their Master's degree in Advanced Material Science and Engineering at Luleå University of Technology from 2007 to 2008, followed by a Master's degree in Advanced Material Science & Engineering at Universität des Saarlandes from 2008 to 2009. Santosh Kiran B. later earned a Research Doctorate degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata from 2011 to 2015. In 2022, they obtained a certification on "How to Support Your Employees' Well-Being" from LinkedIn.
