Celeste Izaguirre is an undergraduate researcher affiliated with the Autonomous Materials Systems Group at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where work includes developing continuous flow methods for monomer synthesis and producing engineering thermosets and thermoplastics. In addition to research, Celeste serves as the undergraduate representative for the MatSE DEI Committee. Previous experience includes an internship at United Airlines as a Structures Engineering Intern and an internship at GE Aerospace focused on advanced military materials behavior, which involved generating material property curves and analyzing mechanical test data. Celeste has also held leadership roles in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, including Membership Logistics Lead and Community Service Chair. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering, Celeste's educational background includes attendance at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy.
