Theo Boutruche is a seasoned Human Rights Officer currently serving at the United Nations Human Rights since January 2020. Previously, Boutruche held key positions including Humanitarian Law and Policy Course Director at Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP), and Legal Advisor (Consultant) at the International Commission of Jurists. Boutruche has extensive experience as an Independent Consultant in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, and a Teaching Fellow in Human Rights at University College London. Other roles include Post-Conflict Legal Adviser at REDRESS, Researcher at Amnesty International focusing on the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Human Rights and IHL Expert with the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on the Conflict in Georgia. Boutruche's career in the human rights field also includes experience with the OHCHR as an Associate Human Rights Officer. Education includes studies at the Law Faculty of Aix-Marseille and the University of Geneva.
