Suyi Hou has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They started their career in 2009 as a Technical Support staff at North Dakota State University. They also worked as a Resident Assistant and were part of the Campus Recreational Sports & Intramurals Staff at the university. In 2012, Suyi worked as a Field Engineer for Kiewit on a specific project. They then transitioned into the role of Civil Engineer at Holly Beck Surveying & Engineering, Inc in 2013. From 2014 to 2016, Suyi gained experience as a Civil Engineer III at Karvakko, P.A. They then worked as a Structural Design Engineer at Sandman Structural Engineers from 2016 to 2019. Currently, Suyi holds the position of Engineer, Transmission & Distribution, at Ulteig since 2019. They have recently taken on additional responsibilities as an Associate Market Leader in the Renewables division at Ulteig since April 2023.

Suyi Hou completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University from 2008 to 2012. They subsequently pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign starting in 2021.

In terms of additional certifications, Suyi Hou obtained the Engineer In Training (EIT) certification from NCEES in October 2013. They also completed the OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Safety and Health certification from Summit Training Source - A Member of the HSI Family of Brands in June 2014. Most recently, in June 2021, Suyi Hou achieved the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from NCEES.
