Derek Johnstone has extensive experience with the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW Canada) since April 1996, holding various key positions including Special Assistant to the National President, Administrator of the National Defence Fund, Regional Director for Ontario, National Representative, Special Projects Union Representative, and Shop Steward as a volunteer representative. Prior to joining UFCW Canada, Derek Johnstone worked as a butcher at Loblaw Companies Limited from April 1996 to December 2005. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts from the University of Toronto and a Certificate in Retail Meat Cutting from Canadore College.
