Stephen Knight has extensive work experience in various roles related to cyber security and technology consulting. Stephen started their career as a Sonar Technician in the US Navy in 1989 and worked in this role until 1993. After that, they served as a Hull Technician in the US Navy Reserve from 1993 to 1997. In 1997, they became an Information Technology Security Consultant at Knight Computers.
In 2003, Knight joined Wells Fargo as a Technical Support Specialist, where they provided help desk support to internal business users. Stephen later transitioned to the role of a Senior Information Technology Security Consultant at Wells Fargo in 2014. In this role, they planned and supported information security risk assessments and policies, identified information security risks, and provided consulting support for projects and initiatives.
In addition to their work at Knight Computers and Wells Fargo, Knight also served in the US Navy Reserve as a Cryptologic Technician Networks from 2011 onwards, focusing on operational cyber survivability testing and evaluation of Navy systems. Stephen also worked as an Operational Cyber Test and Design Analyst in the US Navy from 2017 to 2020, where they redefined test design requirements, developed cyber survivability test plans, and conducted research on potential vulnerabilities.
Most recently, Knight joined Tyto Athene, LLC in 2020 as a Defensive Cyber SME / Site Lead.
Stephen Knight obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with Information Systems from Montana State University Billings, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed an Associate's degree in Computer and Electronics Technology at May Technical College in 1996. Additionally, Stephen obtained several certifications, including Certified Ethical Hacker from EC-Council in 2023, GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN) from GIAC, Certified Linux Administrator (LPIC-1) from the Linux Professional Institute, Linux+ certification from CompTIA, Security+ certification from CompTIA in 2013, and HDI Customer Service Representative from Think HDI in 2011.
