Byungchul Lee

Research Phd Student at Translational Research Institute

Byungchul Lee has a diverse work experience in various research and military roles. In 2015, they served as an Army Sergeant in the Traffic Accident Investigation department of the US Army. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Summer Research Student at The University of Queensland, where they contributed to the identification of a novel iflavirus infecting insects. In 2019, they became an Honours Research student at the same university, focusing on defining the adaptive immune cell response in beta-herpesvirus infection. Currently, they are working as a Research PhD Student at the Translational Research Institute Australia, under the supervision of Prof. Gabrielle Belz, where their research revolves around deciphering the protective program of innate and adaptive cells in pathogen infection.

Byungchul Lee completed their education in chronological order as follows:

From 2014 to 2019, they studied at The University of Queensland, earning a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons) degree with a focus on Virology and Immunology.

Following that, from 2020 to 2024, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD program in Immunology at The University of Queensland.
