Alaina Mallette, MSc, currently serves as a Senior Planner for the Town of Southern Pines, NC, where responsibilities include coordinating land use planning processes and preparing staff reports. Previous experience includes a Planner role at Tug Hill Commission, focusing on comprehensive plans and zoning regulations, and serving as a Fulbright Scholar in Ukraine, where Alaina taught GIS courses and contributed to urban land use projects. Additional roles include a GIS Specialist with the Peace Corps in Mexico, supporting local land use planning, a Research Aide and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the State University of New York College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry, and Camp Director positions with various nonprofits. Alaina holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the State University of New York College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Spanish from Syracuse University.
