Maeve Gould, AICP, is a comprehensive planner with extensive experience in long-range and current planning, currently working for the Town of Blacksburg since September 2017. In the role of Comprehensive Planner, Maeve develops and implements comprehensive planning programs and provides staff support to the Historic and Design Review Board and the Corridor Committee. Prior experience includes serving as a Planner I, focusing on sustainable land use plans and the processing of planning applications. Maeve's background also includes roles as a Research Associate and Graduate Research Assistant at the Virginia Tech Office of Economic Development, where responsibilities involved analyzing economic and community data and assisting with various economic development projects. Earlier experience at Appalachian Voices included development coordination and outreach management, with a focus on membership and foundation relations, and work with AmeriCorps involved conservation and reporting activities. Maeve holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor's degree in Public and Urban Affairs, both from Virginia Tech.
