Dan Smart currently serves as the General Manager of Distribution Stations & Grid Operations at Toronto Hydro, a position held since November 2008. In this role, Dan oversees the Control Centre, Dispatch, Trouble Response, Operational Technology, and Stations. Dan's extensive career at Toronto Hydro includes prior positions such as Director of Control Centre & Grid Response, Director of Control Centre, and various managerial and engineering roles related to grid emergency management and system planning. Before joining Toronto Hydro, Dan worked at Bruce Power as a Technical Officer in Performance Engineering for Electrical Systems. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University, completed in 2007.
