Jaco Maritz has extensive work experience in the field of embedded systems. Jaco is currently working as a Lead Software Engineer at TOPIC Embedded Systems. Prior to that, they were a Technical Team Lead at Andela. Jaco also held the position of Head of Firmware & Embedded Software at Lantern Engineering. Jaco has also worked as a Senior Embedded Engineer at Divigraph, Embedded Engineer at Dtron Communication Pty, and Embedded Engineer at JFE Security. Their earliest work experience includes the role of an Embedded Engineer at Dcom Network Technology.

Jaco Maritz completed their education with a Senior Certificate from the Department of Education in 1998. Prior to that, they obtained a National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology from 2000 to 2004. Jaco had also pursued a Certificate in Computer Programming, Specific Applications in 2001 from the same university. In 1999, Jaco received National Certificates in Engineering from the Department of Education. Recently, they obtained a Professional Scrum Master certification from Scrum.org from 2023 to 2033. Additionally, they completed the IELTS Indicator in 2020.
